Sorry about the extreme shaking in the first 10 seconds. This elephant is just one of the many machine puppets created by Carnet De Croquis in Nantes,France. It is a city funded performance collective that puts on a city wide play using puppets that utilizes machine and human propelled mechanisms. It is an amazing thing to see. You can see many of their machines and performances on YouTube. I got to see this elephant at their studio while in Nantes with my wife this June. I would love to go back during one of the performances some day.
